'Man and Woman' is an 8-metre-long movable steel sculpture by Georgian sculptor Tamara Kvesitadze. Located in Batumi, the statue symbolises the Muslim boy Ali and the Georgian princess Nino from the popular 1937 novel allegedly written by Kurban Said.

The novel is set in the Caucasus against the backdrop of the First World War. The book is a quest for truth to reconcile contradictions - Islam and Christianity, East and West, man and woman. The novel, whose author is still unknown, has been published more than 100 times in 33 languages. "Ali and Nino", a bestseller in 1937, is still read today.

The statues start moving every day at 7pm, joining together briefly and then parting ways. The cycle of movement is 10 minutes. An original idea and magnificent execution. Be sure to take a look at what it looks like in the video below:

Traffic starts every day at 7pm.
The statues move towards each other, joining together only for a moment:
They then 'drive' through each other.
